From the early days of Lovett College, I think.
Several questions spring to mind. Among these are 1)What does the guy with the beer have in his back pocket? 2)The guy on the sidewalk–what’s he looking at? and 3)who is trusting enough to get into the trunk??
That may be Terry Mason with the beer can. I can’t say who the others are.
I can’t tell what that is in his back pocket, but this pic must have been taken in the spring of ’71 during Rondelet weekend. They’re probably heading for the beer bike race.
I just got a note from a classmate who confirms that is Terry Mason. He says Terry has a blackjack in his back pocket. Terry worked as security guard in his off hours. (So says my classmate.)
Wow, look how terrible the road surface looked. Some things never change! 😉
The gazer on the sidewalk is looking into the trunk through the gap on that side, probably trying to tell if there are two or three people in it. I’ve ridden in the trunk on occasion (Volvo sedan trip to House of Pies), and the trunk was closed.
I guess a boxy Volvo sedan would be a good trunk to ride in, but still, House of Pies? It’s not a drive-in movie, for goodness sake!
More bodies than seats, including a child seat in the rear center.
I did get to tickle someone through the ski hole behind the rear/center armrest.
Bob Curl or Sidney Burrus was master of Lovett in Spring 1971. One of them could identify these guys.
Doc Curl was the master in ’71. It’s possible the guy on the sidewalk (bending forward) is Tom Armstrong. Not positive.
