Frederick Kalb Lecture, 2015

The flyer for this year’s Kalb Lecture in History came in my email today. It looks, frankly, pretty interesting and I’m going to try to go:

I always like to use this occasion to remember Frederick “Tiny” Kalb as he was back in his student days.

He’s the center:

Bonus: I’m on vacation and I may well fail to write another post until next Monday. For once I have plenty of time, but I’m struggling to focus. Here’s the view out my window:

I guess it’s possible that I’m compulsive enough to write every day anyway but as a wise man once said, “Keep expectations low, as usual, and no one will be too disappointed.”

Extra Bonus: Housekeeping cart. I’m going to drop this picture in the FE&P suggestion box.

If the custodians start pedaling down the corridors of Alice Pratt Brown Hall, I will blame you! 😉 Have a good vacation!

I am so, so jealous of your view. I am in Chicago at the moment, and it’s above freezing for the first time in 10 days. It’s sleeting outside, and tonight it is supposed to go back below freezing. The only palm tree I have seen was in the Field Museum (a natural history museum).
