That’s what the poster on the wall asserts anyway. I would argue that some change is good and some change is bad. The difference isn’t always obvious at the time, either.
In any event, this was a training class for the new Rice telephone system, the one that brought the 348 prefix to campus. Religious Studies Professor Werner Kelber looks as skeptical as I feel:

And now that system is being replaced.
Bah, humbug. For me only real innovation in telephones is Caller ID. It’s easier to spot the marketers. The cursed things have become far too complicated.
No one can say Rice doesn’t get its money’s worth out of its phone systems. The ROLM went for 17 years. The Nortel is 18.5 and counting.
