It might just be me but I don’t see any sign of sorrow in this crowd:
I need a break from the grind too. I’ll be off campus next week but still posting so keep reading but don’t ask me to do anything until after Thanksgiving. I do promise to try to catch up with my email.
Note: Tommy Lavergne is neither dead nor fired. He just finally had to clean up his stuff.
Bonus:
1953 Ford, probably a Crestline.
A yellow and green, 1954 Chevrolet convertible, with a Tenn. license plate, would have been a much better choice!
If you had one!
Want a picture?
Yes!
I found the pic of it.
I can NOT find a way to send that pic to you.
I want to go back to the days of the 3 cent stamp.

I suspect that Gene’s yellow and green, 1954 Chevrolet convertible, with a Tenn. license plate, was a long way from the Rice campus in 1959.
NOT all that far.
In later 1956, I had entered Baylor Med. (across the street from the Institute), married my little darling Verna in 1957, moved across Almeda St. into a rent house across the street from the Sheriff of the day (Buster somebody), and around the corner from John Wolda, who had hung up his cleats and entered some nefarious enterprise or the other.
I lost the green and yellow girlmobile [sigh] after our twins were born in 1961.
I have kept Verna though, and have no plans on losing her.
