Well, we left off with one more game to go—Baylor. If we win, we win the Southwest Conference and a trip to the Cotton Bowl. On paper, this shouldn’t have caused much anxiety. It was a home game and Baylor was having a terrible year, fighting just to stay out of last place. There was a significant amount of handwringing in the press, though, as plenty of people pointed out that this could actually be a dangerous situation.
They needn’t have fretted, however. The Owls won decisively, 20-0. The Thresher was jubilant and preparations for the trip up to the game began immediately.
Meanwhile, things were getting even more interesting for King Hill, who was drafted by the Chicago Cardinals.
Bonus: Check this out. I’m unsure whether I should be mortified or amused. I do know that any list that includes me, Erica Rose and J.J. Watt is dubious at best.
