Antonio Alejos: Fifty Years at Rice

I went to a party today that was given in celebration of FE&P employee Antonio Alejos, who has worked at Rice for fifty years. It was a great party in honor of a great man. I would have to say, in fact, that it was the best party I’ve ever attended at Rice. The respect that his co-workers have for Mr. Alejos was very touching and the party was lively and full of joy (and good food). But it was the mariachi band–all Rice students–that put it over the top:

When Alejos first signed on at Rice, Pitzer was still in the early years of his presidency and the quad was not yet complete:

I am very grateful for his service.

Bonus: That mariachi band was fantastic. They’re called Mariachi Luna Llena and if you ever need mariachis (and who doesn’t, from time to time?) you should hire them. Trust me on this.
