I ran across this photo the other day of the man who worked as Rice’s glassblower, Hubert Lange:
It’s not dated and the clothes don’t really give much away. I’m fairly sure we had glass blowers on staff for a long time although I don’t think we do any longer. I dimly remember being in the shop a long time ago and if I recall correctly it was in the basement of Space Science, somewhere off to the side of the machine shop here:

Bonus: For a single wild moment I thought the light poles had begun lying down in sympathy with the Italian cypresses, but of course it was only that the electricians were working on them.
