Another Loose End Tied Up, 1956

Yesterday it was fishing class, tonight it’s bowling.

A little over a year ago I wrote about a bowling shirt that had been sent to the Woodson by Robert Karnei ’56. (Well, actually it was sent by his wife while he was out in the garage.) You might remember it:

Until today that was the only trace I’d ever found of a Rice bowling team. But this afternoon I was rummaging around in one of the more obscure corners of our collection and I came across one of the more obscure documents in that collection–the constitution of the Rice Institute Bowling League:

Pretty bland stuff, no?

But there was a membership list attached and who do you suppose was at the top?

I also notice a J. Walzel and I wonder if that’s that’s the Jim Walzel who comments here from time to time.

Bonus: Suddenly it feels like summer is here.
