From a Brown College scrapbook, late ’70s, it’s the great Soviet gymnast, Olga Korbut:
I never get tired of this picture–the goofball look on her face just slays me. I actually had it as my desktop homepage image for a while.

Isn’t that Alison Whitemore? ’78 or ’79?
Oh, yes, ma’am, that’s me, Alison Whittemore, ’78, in front of the Brown College commons, probably in 1976. I am now chair of the engineering department at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. I was driving back to campus today after a big luncheon meeting with possible donors. I was stopped at a light and checked my mail, only to see myself in all my Olga goofball glory. Thanks for the great Halloween surprise. Hilarious. And humbling.
