Something that doesn’t happen every day

I’m at a loss for words.

And here’s what it used to be. This is from the 1917 Rice-Texas game (also at Clark Field, like this one. You can clearly see those houses in the 1916 picture.):

  1. With regard to the new score board, it is needed by about 60% of the seats to see the players on the field. I was there.

    I find that absolutely mind-boggling. What do you suppose a thing like that costs?

  3. I have no idea what it cost, but should be A LOT! However, look at the advertising up and down each side of the score board. Wonder how much income that amounts to?

    Mr Jamail probably knows! It’s a mind blowing place. It was the first, and probably the last time I’ll ever be in an arena with 101,642 people. I estimate that the (42) were wearing blue. I’m no UT fan by any stretch, but I was blown away. More power to’em.
