    That’s certainly Jim Boddy, class of 1969 in the beanie. I think we were the last class to get them. And the ’69 was very popular and often stolen.

    Bring them back. And the dinners when freshmen served. And the crested blazers.

    If the beanies went in 1969, when did the others (freshmen servers and blazers) go away? I had to serve as a freshman in 1976, but there was no trace of the blazers then.

      Colleges gave up freshman waiting, and family-style dinner more generally, at different times. By the late 1980s, only Wiess had freshman waiting 5 days a week, and some colleges had already abandoned it entirely. It continued at Wiess long after all other colleges had given it up, lasting until the forced advent of shared serveries destroyed any real hope of family-style dining.
