Margaret Thatcher at Rice

I found out that Margaret Thatcher had died by way of a phone call from Public Affairs. They were looking for pictures of her at the Economic Summit that was held at Rice in 1990, of which there are plenty. Here she is in one of the iconic images from that event:

    There is more than one fake smile on the faces in the second picture. I can imagine both Barbara Bush and Margaret Thatcher thinking “Oh, no. Just what is he trying to do?” for completely different reasons.
