The 1960’s were the Golden Age of college newsletters at Rice. (Maybe it was advances in reproduction technology that made it available to students on a widespread basis?) In any event, here’s a nice cover from the fall of 1968:
What I particularly enjoy about this is that if you pronounce it as “Wise Crack” you would be (for a refreshing change) actually pronouncing the name correctly.

I still have my beanie. Wore it to a Rice – U of H game a few years ago. The Owls tore ’em up because I wore my lucky beanie.

Well, you should be able to use the SRC response party to NOD–the Night of Innocence. If I remember correctly, there were some “compromising” pictures from the first one (1977-1978?) of Keith Cooper taken on that night that I think showed up in the Campanile,
Speaking of things Weiss from this era, do you by any chance have any information (I don’t remember if there were programs?) about their production of George Greanias’ (sp?) “Hello, Hamlet”? It was put on sometime my freshman year (1967-68) in their commons and it was wonderful. I still remember some of the parody songs from it. Genius!

Hello Hamlet was a Wiess Tabletop fixture throughout the 80s. I saw at least two different productions of it back in my on-campus (or just after) days.
My daughter was Ophelia in 2008.
The story I heard about Hello Hamlet was that Wiess Tabletop mounted it every 4 years to rake in enough income to finance all their other productions. It was indeed mounted twice in my 6 years at Rice.
