“On Campus,” 1976 plus The 1970 Campanile Again

I am totally wiped out tonight but I do have something here that should provide interesting reading. This is the entire issue of the November 19, 1976 “On Campus” newsletter for faculty and staff. If you can’t find something you like in here, well, I don’t think you’re trying hard enough. For me the most enjoyable thing about it is its tone, which is refreshingly unpolished. I read that first section on “Convocation, ’77” and was blown away by its easy and natural frankness. I wish I knew who wrote it. New On Campus November 1976 New On Campus 2 and 3 New On Campus 4   Bonus: I know I’ve snarked on the 1970 Campanile before but we listened to the record that came in the box for the first time this week and it was just great. It felt a bit like finding an intact mastodon under some melting ice. Here’s a Woodson blog post by my wonderful colleague Norie Guthrie, who is always full of great ideas, that includes a couple of snippets from the recording. Take a listen!

I’ve lost the record from my “box” (although I do still have a record player) so I really liked hearing the snippets. Plus I’ve learned about a new blog I’ll have to check out. Thanks!

I have the record, but no record player. But, good news, I have mp3 files of both sides.

Alas, I lost the box somewhere years ago.
