Bits of String and Shiny Bottle Caps

Just a few tiny things that recently caught my attention and stuck there until I could figure them out.

First, this:

I know this was bothering you guys too so I went and checked. That lamp post is now gone. I could speculate on its fate but that would be irresponsible of me.

Second, I went over to grounds and asked. This is a desert willow. There are several over there behind Abercrombie and they look to be thriving:

Third, someone somewhere in the comments asked about a wooden sidewalk that connected Main Street to the Administration Building back in the day. I’ve only ever seen one picture of it and here it is:

Bonus: An unusually alert faculty member pointed me to what appears to be an extremely well executed fake. This had to take real effort.

I love these commemorative tree plaques by the way, and if you see me zig-zagging down a campus sidewalk it’s because I’m reading them and remembering my old friends.
