A Teacher

This is what the ideal university is: a committed teacher and engaged students. This is what we are when we’re at our best. Everything else is noise.

Melissa, Did something happen to him? Thanks,Rick Sheridan ’86

  2. Glad he is still around! One of my favorite teachers, ever. And hilarious at a Jones College lunch table (he was a faculty member of the college) back in the late 70s.

My favorite prof, too; I graduated in 1971. I can’t believe he’s just now retiring, since *I’m* retiring this year, too. I guess he has more energy than I do, which doesn’t surprise me 😎

This picture of Dr. Huston lecturing reminds me of sitting in his English class in 1971, when tuition at Rice was $21OO. Is a similar experience of learning from Dr. Huston now worth the $43,22O undergraduates are now asked fork over…

Dennis acted in many of Shakespeare’s plays as well. He stole the show as a very animated Sir Toby Belch in Baker Shake’s Twelfth Night back in 1972! He also served twice as master of Hanszen! Long live Dennis Huston!
