Friday Follies: Flu Shots!

Next week we follow in the footsteps of the great Eddie Wojecki–flu shots!

In spite of my fear of needles it’s one of my favorite days of the year. Standing in line outside Farnsworth Pavilion I always run into someone wonderful who I haven’t seen in ages.

Bonus: We have a plaque that used to be on a wall somewhere in the stadium. I’m going to go ahead and say that it is my strong opinion that they should put it back up.

    Great article!
My father, Lawrence M. Ludtke made this plaque in the beginning of his career.
He went on to become one of the worlds best monumental artists and painters, with sculptures of John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Lyndon B. Johnson, Sam Houston, etc.
His Waterloo was when was asked to sculpt the Maryland statute for Gettysburg.
All of his work, his unusual, yet miraculous life are portrayed in his book “Life in Bronze”, dictated to his friend and author Amy Bacon during the last months of his life before he succumb to bone cancer.
My dad and Eddie had a commonality- my dad too played baseball. A pitcher, he soon excelled to the farm club of the majors. My dad loved baseball all his life, as I know Eddie Wojecki did.
So glad the plack and story is still there.
