I hate to keep picking on Al Conover, Rice’s head football coach from 1972 to 1975, but these pictures are more than I can resist.

I have no explanation for them, by the way. I find this second one particularly amusing.

    That’s an early 60’s Cushman Golfster 732. At least ten years old by this time, and hard-worn. Two flat tires and plenty of mold. The other carts don’t look much better; wonder if this is some kind of cart graveyard behind the gym or something?

    Construction of the building in the background looks more like someplace out along Harwin – lots of tilt-wall semi-industrial space

    The photographer’s telephoto lens case is sitting in the back of one of the carts in the background.
    This looks like some of the old back-lot space along the northern fence line of the Harris County Domed Stadium complex.
