Dr. Lovett Smiles

It’s another travel day for me today so this will be a quickie. Here’s an image of President Lovett standing in the Sallyport on the day of the 1930 commencement garden party. It’s a great one, and rare. I believe he’s smiling, which is not a thing that was frequently photographed:

    Love that white suit, or maybe seersucker!

      It’s probably a white linen suit. Look at all the wrinkles on the sleeve. Linen suits were common summer wear in the south in the summer, in the days before air conditioning.
