Friday Follies: Jello Night, circa 1996

This reminds me of the 1933 shoe race in that I think I get the general drift but lack the piece of information that makes it make sense:

    (BTW, at least one of the images is backwards.)

        The middle and bottom are both the same orientation (bottom is a close-up of members of the middle picture).
        Effegee makes a good point about the possibility that the shirt with the backwards “WIE” is deliberately printed that way, but I’m also looking at the print in what I would call the pocket position on the person in the upper left corner, and pocket printing was usually on the left side, not the right.

          I was kidding about the middle photo. There was a college t-shirt at some point prior to 2002 that had the back printed with the reverse image from the front. However, this isn’t it. Other than the reversal, the shirt in the middle photo appears to be the same one that is prominent in the first photo.

    I would venture a guess that this was inspired by the “Animal House” scene where Bluto slurped Jello while going through a cafeteria line.

    I am in these pictures and have no recollection of this event. Ha. But I see a lot of Wiessmen. Mike Marziani is in there. And Art T.’s back… in the top picture. But then see several Baker people in the middle. And I am WRC.

    It appears to be the renovated Wiess commons in old Wiess College. The commons of the early 1970’s was renovated and enlarged to the one in this picture. That may explain the number of Wiessman identified by others.

    I can’t place anyone definitively, but I’m surprised that this is 1996. A few of the people look vaguely familiar and the fashion looks a touch older than that. I would have guessed 1989 or 1990.
