Merry Christmas to Miss Hogg, 1947

We got a surprise donation this morning from Russ Pitman ’58, a copy of philosophy Professor Radoslav Tsanoff’s book on ethics:

It isn’t surprising that Russ gave something to the Woodson. He’s given many things over the years and has been very generous to many other departments at Rice as well. The real surprise is that this book is inscribed as a Christmas gift to Miss Ima Hogg in 1947:

I liked the dedication too:

A wonderful gift. Ima Hogg and Professor Tsanoff shared many interests, and I imagine she enjoyed his book. In the 1929’s Miss Hogg supported the first music program at Rice for several years.

That is some really cool handwriting as well.
