That’s Sid Burrus on the far right. Ask him what the event was 😉
And whether the food was any good.
I’ll bet that that those mini-quiches in the photo’s left side were quite good if they were Nancy’s, which were innovative and hyper-popular hors d’oeuvres in the 1980s/90s.
They were made by Nancy Mueller, a retired research chemist and venture capitalist-wife from Palo Alto (https://www.sfgate.com/business/article/The-Queen-of-Quiche-Nancy-Mueller-s-frozen-3034236.php) who created a company to make/market them in 1977 and retired again in 1999 after selling the business and building a 140-foot-long yacht on which she traveled the world (https://archive.fortune.com/galleries/2007/fortune/0706/gallery.retire50.fortune/2.html).
Free food demands intense concentration.
I’m pretty sure the Texas State Constitution requires you to eat as much as possible when there’s free food.
