Friday Afternoon Follies: So, so tired

We forget sometimes that college is exhausting.

June 1967, I think this architecture student is in the Grand Hall of the RMC, which was full of furniture at this time:

March 2014, I know for sure that this medical student is in the basement of Reinert Alumni Library at Creighton:

I’ve been to Powell’s. Great store. I’ve been to sleep too, but not in the RMC.

Likewise, I had the opportunity to visit Powell’s in 2008 and loved it. I’ve never slept in the RMC. However, I’ll put it on my bucket list…

Powell’s is one of my favorite places in Portland. Many years ago, we had a Rice alum friend visiting. We took him to Powell’s, and he just wished they’d open a store in Houston. He bought so many books, he had to buy a new suitcase to get his purchases back.

Wasn’t there a guy back in the ICSA days who used to get really offended at people sleeping in the hallway and on the furniture?

    • Mark Williamson says:

Yes, except that at ICSA it was more often done _under_ the furniture (the carrels near the computer room). There were no sofas or even large chairs.

  5. I’ve slept in the Grand Hall more than once. Seems that Grungy posted a picture of me doing that on Facebook a while back.
